National Ride to Work Day

Dust off your bikes. It’s time… If you have ever considered riding to work or school, tomorrow is the perfect day to start!
For both new and frequent riders becoming a registered participant for Ride to Work Day means you help build a case for better bike riding facilities.
My hope is that the more people experience the fun of riding hopefully there can be a change in attitudes to those on bikes;  the attitudes of drivers to riders and experienced riders to novices. They almost need rules the same as public swimming pools:
Cycling Rules:
1)      Keep left of lanes
2)      Stop at the lights and let faster riders pass
3)      Always show encouragement and care for others.

  1. I really like the idea of 'riding to work'. It gives people an opportunity to reduce their carbon footprint along with helping them to stay fit and healthy. However those attitudes from Drivers to those on bikes and vice-versa really need to change to make everyone feel safe. Being a driver myself i feel that 'bike-rider's when on the roads don't use the appropriate bike lanes if they are there. The other way round i think that drivers need to be more patient around bike-riders, especially when passing them. If these two-main issues are improved i think they we can all get along better on the roads.

  2. Great idea! Make your carbon footprint smaller while promoting physical fitness. Everyday should be a ride to work day!
